Biffle Could Have Done Fly Over Better

Uploaded on September 30, 2007 by commorancy on Flickr The military fly over has become a staple of NASCAR races and a favorite of all the fans in attendance.  Displaying our nation’s military might at it’s best, the flyover brings out the patriot in everyone in attendance at the track and elicits cheers, whistles and high fives throughout the stands.  In a crowd where most fans are there to cheer on their favorite drivers, the loudest cheers are usually reserved to honor our armed forces as they fly overhead.

But not everyone is so enthusiastic.  After watching 4 F-16s fly overhead in formation during the pre race ceremonies at Martinsville, Greg Biffle simply shrugged his shoulders and shook his head in disappointment.  As the rest of the drivers, crew members and the crowd roared with patriotic excitement, Biffle took it all in and sighed.  “I could have done that better,” Biffle said as he lowered his helmet onto his head. “I would have had at least 10 space shuttles, 3 dragons pulling a giant US flag, 9 hang gliders and the Snoopy balloon from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Not to mention fireworks exploding everywhere, a thunderstorm with lots of good lightning, a rainbow, confetti made of money and maybe some acrobats.  Now that’s a fly over!”

Biffle is quick to note that his criticism should not be confused with being anti-patriotic or anti-American.  He describes himself as 134% red blooded American and would have a pet bald eagle if his wife Nicole would let him.  He also announced his intentions to name the next pet he adopts “Uncle Sam.”

They were 2 A-10’s. There was no F-16’s.
