Cal Stalkerton has tried for months to get into contact with the woman he is meant to marry, Fox NASCAR analyst Krista Voda, but to no avail. Last, week, his personal devastation continued as he discovered that subscribing to Vodaphone would not, in fact, connect him to Krista Voda.
Vodaphone released a transcript of their conversation as an example of the kind of inquiries they receive due to their company’s name.
Stalkerton registered audible disgust when the live support technician didn’t know what he was talking about. “I’m trying to get in touch with Krista Voda – she needs me!” an exasperated Stalkerton shouted into the phone.
“Um, dude, if that’s a person you need to call 411, I think,” replied the tech.
“I’ve only tried that like a thousand times! And white pages and calling her at work and trying to follow her home from the races. All I need to do is talk to her!” Stalkerton yelled into his computer microphone.
“Don’t get unhinged, buddy,” the tech told him.
“You guys are Voda Phone and I want to talk to Krista Voda! Now! Now! Now! I had my hopes pinned on this.”
Apparently, Vodaphone has logged so many similair complaints that a company name change is in the works. Look for SpakeTalk to hit the market sometime in September. Hopefully that will solve their problem.
